Abstract: CIRL was established in 1979 to undertake and promote research, education and publication on the law relating to Canada's renewable and non-renewable natural resources. The Institute has conducted research on: oil and gas, mining, forestry and water law; the environment; native rights; and Canada-U.S. trade in natural resources.
